The new Faculty of Chemical Engineering (FChE) was established on the 1st June 2010. The faculty consists of there different departments i.e. the departments of Chemical, Polymer and Bioprocess Engineering. Previously all these departments together with the Department of Petroleum Engineering were under the umbrella of Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering (FKKKSA) - a faculty that was established on the 15th March 1983 in Univerisiti Teknologi Malaysia Kuala Lumpur branch. As a direct result of the shift in the university’s policy that is to give more emphasis on the fast growing chemical engineering industries,  the Departments of Chemical, Bioprocess and Polymer Engineering were congregated under the new Faculty of Chemical Engineering in 2010.

FChE prides itself for its high potential in preparing the students for success upon graduation.  Our undergraduate and postgraduate  programmes are highly regarded worldwide (Second best Engineering school in Malaysia and top 150 in world ranking in 2012). We offer students a rich curriculum, a platform for students to develop their generic skills, cutting-edge research opportunities, and access to our staff who are experts in chemical engineering related fields.
