CLEAR provides research and consultancy services to the palm oil industry; be in the mill or refinery and other agencies on issues related to food fats and oils industry. In addition, being part of academic institution, CLEAR is committed to carry out frontier research in the related areas.

Lead by Dr. Mohd Azizi Che Yunus, the research areas and expertise offered by CLEAR include the development of palm oil physical properties, the application of basic principle and fundamental theory of chemical engineering in chemical industrial such as application supercriticalfluid extraction, crystallation process, membrane technology, solid-liquid and liquid-liquid extraction, drying process include combined with microwave, bioprocess, adsorbent development and application of nano materials and method development of chromatogram analysis, laboratory work and hand-on experimental procedures including process operational and safety procedures, modeling and simulation and process and plant integration.

Development of palm oil physical properties, laboratory work, re-engineering of palm oil process and oil industry and the application of new technology such as supercritical fluid extraction for optimization and enhancement of oil-based quality product.
